July 18, 2012–For years researchers at the academic level have struggled with making sense of the endless data they collect during their studies. In an effort to help such research Datameer has made available free of charge the license to their popular data analytics solutions. In the Market Watch article, “Datameer Enables Big Data Analytics in Academic Research”, the impetus for such a decision is explained.

As the article explains the problem, “Academic researchers are particularly challenged by the massive amounts of data needed for their research. Collecting and analyzing data requires enormous computational effort and has typically been slow and tedious, often requiring a computer science background. Datameer offers an end-user focused tool that enables researchers themselves to integrate large quantities of data, do complex analysis in a familiar spreadsheet-like interface, and then visualize their results to easily understand, communicate and share their findings.”

Academics are not the only ones struggling with too much data and inadequate analytics.  Companies across all industries are inundated with data, much of it unstructured, with antiquated analytics solutions unable to carry the burden. While there are always pricey analytics solutions aimed at the most arduous of data collectors small and midsized companies often find themselves without affordable options. For them we recommend Digital Reasoning who prides themselves on offering top notch analytics to all companies regardless of budget.
