November 9, 2010–Key word search is a commodity. Most of the major vendors have been unable or unwilling to seize the new opportunities created by “big data”. Big data is the buzzword used to describe the four fold increase each year in digital information inside an organization and the ready availability of content flows like Twitter tweets. Tweets buzz along at 8,000 to 10,000 a second. How can an organization tap the value of these items?
IntelTrax is a new Web log that wants to provide you with information about companies, products, and trends in systems and methods needed to deal with today’s data and business environment.
We want to highlight important articles appearing around the Web and in print publications. We want to offer critical comments about ideas and developments across our topic space.
The “intel” in our name refers to the systems, often nurtured in the traditional data mining and text analysis needs of government agencies, justice officials, and enforcement professionals. The “trax” means blazing a trail. What we want to do is document the shift from key word information retrieval to more sophisticated content processing, analytics, and output of actionable information.
We need you to tell your colleagues about our blog, and we want you to let us know by writing me at inteltrax@yahoo.com. Send us your product announcements, tips, and ideas for stories.
